Since the IOC's official languages are French and English (with French taking precedence over English it seems), sounds like the French weren't being whiny, but calling out a mistake that the London Olympic Committee had made?

I recall the general wondering as to why the signs were in French, English and Greek when they were in Athens, and that being the answer - always in French and  English, regardless of where the Olympics were, and then the host country's language as well.
