Where do you like to Dine in your community?

Deep River, Ontario -

The Bears Den Hotel and Restaurant: the best wings I've had in the Ottawa Valley, and some of the freshest meals I've had in a long time. HIGHLY recommend it. Fair price too.

Kitchener area... Elmira. The Crossroads. Menu or Buffet. The Breakfast Buffet is to die for. There is nothing you want for.
The dessert section is...well, if you like homade dessert of any kind there is something for everyone!
All the food is homeade by Mennonites ( that should tell you how good it is).

Portage La Prairie:

Hor Frost (next to the Domo)...awesome martinis, steaks and the best homemade ice cream I've ever had (also the first time I've had Saskatoon Berry ice cream...I'm hooked!)
It doesn't look like much on the outside, but as they say about books and covers...

Winnipeg:

Chinese Food (the real stuff):  Kum Koon Garden on King/Logan for Dimsum (brunch), Logan Corner (across the street) for late-night munchies
I'm sure it's been mentioned, but anything on Corydon and/or Osborne.  There was a great Vietnamese place on Corydon (Lao Viet) but has since closed and moved...somewhere.

A good website to check out restaurants in Canada and the U.S. is http://www.restaurantica.com/

Of course, you have to take the ratings with a grain of salt (pun intended).  For example, if only one person has rated a restaurant good or bad, it's difficult to determine if the rating is accurate.  However, if 40-50 people have rated one way or the other, you can probably rest assured it's pretty good (or bad).  Also, I like to read the reviews as some people write a good review but give the restaurant a low rating as they think 1 is good instead of 10.

Also maps out the restaurants for you.

Winnipeg: Good Earth on Portage at Roseberry

Moxies in Polo Park. Food is good, waitresses are spectacular.

Also at/around Polo Park:  Joey's.  I think I have developed an unnatural love for their white beer  :D

Vernon B.C. Joey's Only The best seafood ever....

                                  regards,,,

Ottawa, LOVE Milestones - great food, unbelievable dessert.  I'd sell my mother for the Ibarra Mexican chocolate cake.

Esquimalt Donair Shop for a quick donair and even has Halifax Sweet Sauce. Right on Esquimalt Road near Municipal Hall/Library.

Guelph:

I like this place in Guelph; it's good standard fare, nothing fancy, reasonable prices and has the greatest choice of beers:

Adding some more from a while back (no guarantees that any of these are still there)  ::)

Victoria:
- Vietnamese food at Kim's (a few stores down from the Odeon)...it was fairly new when I was there, but good.
- Cheap sushi at Sushi Plus (next to the Odeon.)  Don't be fooled by the "changing" daily specials...you can order any special at any time
- Dimsum at Jade Fountain (the Red Lion Inn complex on Douglas) or Don Mee's (right in Chinatown)

London, ON:
- Vietnamese food at Thanh Kieu on Huron, a block east of Highbury...great little hole-in-the-wall place.

Jade Fountain and Don Mee's are. I haven't actually eaten at the Jade Fountain but at The Fox downstairs but they have two combo's that come from The Jade Fountain kitchen on the menu LOL. Really good deal for $8.99.

If any one is in the Vancouver area and looking for some good food the Tomahawk Barbeque can't be beat in North Vancouver. Some of the best hamburgers any where and now using organic beef. A legend in Vancouver area for ever lol. http://www.tomahawkrestaurant.com/ The last time I was there was in September and for 14.00 I had the best steak I've had for ages with Chilliwack corn on the cob and a the best ceasar salad in years. Also the pie's are some of the best I've had.

John Gyles Motor Inn & Restaurant in Lower Woodstock, NB.......German cuisine.......consistently excellent.......great desserts!

Can't remember tiny places I enjoyed in San Antonio, but anyplace that's tiny, looks like it's family run and nobody is speaking English is usually a good spot to try.

There was a place called La Fogatas. http://www.lafogata.com/menu.html One of my favorites in North America.

In Halifax, or Eastern Passage- Wharf Wraps.

Edmonton: Bad Ass Jacks,
Kingston: The Copper Penny, Chez Piggy, The Toucan
Toronto: The Amazing Ted's Restaraunt, Alice Fazooli's Italian Grill

There are more I just can't remember their names right now

Ottawa: Empire bar and grill in the Byward Market
Previous Residence: Frankie's Tomatoes (Woodbine & Steelcase) My fav. resturant!

One of my new faves in Toronto:
http://www.juliescuban.com/

A little convenience-store sized place converted into a restaurant - ate there with a woman who said the food was comparable to that of her mother-in-law who cooks and lives in Cuba.  VERY much worth the cab ride to its kinda-outta-the-way location.

In Regina, Houston Pizza on Hill Ave, tel 306 584 0888
