I found this image and others like it on the CF site but never seen this type of helmet before. What is it? A gas mask?

I do believe it is a simu-nitions mask. Its like regular ammo but for training, I've never used it. I am sure someone in this forum must be more knowledgeable about it...

It is the Simunition face helmet.

Worn obviously when using Sims (mind you on some ranges we use standard helments and a facemask).

IT IS NOT PAINTBALL

I believe the troop in the background is likely loading mags.
