And how many of these events happened the night before #POTUS45's speech?

More accurately, how many articles/shows showed/commented on Sweden on Friday night

Wow.  Is there anything Trump can't do?  He's gotta be bigger than the Beatles and we know who they were bigger than  [:p

Sweden has a problem with grenades being used in attacks. The link has a list per year. Malmo is the epicenter of these attacks.

looks like this has been an issue since the 90's.  interesting and disturbing.

Although not directly related to the Swedish experience the German experience with immigrants is not new.  Older folks will harken back to the Gaestarbeiter problems that predate the fall of the Warsaw Pact.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastarbeiter

Merkel didn't live through that because she was behind the wall.  But the Westies did.

On the other side of the coin, the reason I believe that the Freedom of Movement is so high on the European agenda is the historical need for internal passports that restricted freedom of movement.  When I first went to Europe back in the 70s, Western Europe, I can remember having to show my passport at the front desk of my hotel, and in some instances, hand it over to the hotel staff "for safe-keeping".  Add that to the history of internal borders in the Warsaw Pact and the hard borders of the Cold War and I can understand their impulses.

By contrast the Brits, except during WW2, have never had an ID card and have always been free to wander - visas and passports are considered reasonable accommodation.  For the Euros, as in so many other things it seems - emotions are too raw and too recent to permit nuance.  They are either free, or they are not.  They don't trust anybody to manage the middle ground fairly because they have been abused so often.

Two problems with this narrative being spewed forth by the White House shills is that this still doesn't indicate voter fraud took place. Just because you have out of date registration lists doesn't prove massive in person voter fraud. All it proves is that voter registration rolls need to be reviewed more frequently than they are.

The second and bigger problem with this narritive is that so far there have only been two cases of in person voter fraud from this past election that were successfully prosecuted. And both perpetrators voted for Trump. One was a non citizen who didn't know (yeah right) she couldn't vote. She was a registered Republican. She voted for Trump this year and Romney in 2012. The other was a Trump supporter that was so worried that Trump was going to lose, she voted in another district, after voting in her own.

I wouldn't want to take a chance that more Trump supporters voted illegally.

Except the article wasn't about out of date voter registration, it was about between 800,000 to 2 million illegal immigrants being registered to vote in the Hispanic-American community alone. If we accept the lower number and assume only 10% of these illegally registered people did vote, then there are 80,000 illegal ballots in play. President Trump won some States by 10,000 votes or so.

The Green Party can be thanked for providing a secondary window into the illegal voting issue, the irregularities uncovered in the Michigan recount do suggest a high level of voter fraud, and extrapolating across the United States would be very.....interesting, to say the least. When the investigation comes out, I'm going to predict that the story will rapidly be disappeared down the memory hole, as the media and other establishment organs are proven wrong once again.

When are you guys going to finally accept that Trump won the election and move on?

You do realize that this is making a case against the legitamacy of Trumps win.

Perhaps that he lost the popular vote by more than 2.8 million?

Saw this in the POTUS 44 thread. Reposting in the POTUS 45 thread,

It's a long article. Sorry.

I still have trouble accepting that people would embrace and proudly self-proclaim being "losers," but it's another chunk of the puzzle to ponder.
:dunno:

How long did it take them to move on about Obama's birth certificate?  I'm pretty sure some are still at it.

I'm going to hazard a guess that never is a good indication of how long.

We still have Jacobites in Scotland and the Saxon and Norman Lords in Parliament can only agree on one thing - the appointments made by Charles II are nouveau riche parvenus.  ;D

Trump has been called a xenophobe, Islamophobe, homophobe, antisemetic, racist, dictator, tyrant and Hitler. Then he was insulted for his personal characteristics, carrot, orangutan, small hands, awful hair. So what are people to do now that they used their best insults before he even took office. Do they put Uber in front of everything and then find another word after that? I suspect the current hysteria and gnashing of teeth is frustration over not having any good insults left.

100 days ~/= 3 months. I reckon that everything will calm down around then.  Trump will have lost his ability to shock by then.  He will have to work at being unpredictable.

Currently he gets a chance to wave red rags at the Dems and they react noisily taking all the air time that the reporters could be using investigating harder stories.  So the Republicans in the House and Senate get to skate for a while - or get an opportunity to act.

Meanwhile Trump's senior appointments generally get approved - at least they aren't Trump.  They could be worse.  Besides the press have all these other things they can write about to justify their salaries.  What did Trump mis-spell today?

Meanwhile, in the world at large, the world's leaders are still coming to terms with a guy that is unpredictable - and they don't like that.  They would much sooner deal with those nice sane, though right leaning appointees of Trump.    Guys that are saying: " Look! I get you.  The boss is a hard guy to handle.  But he is who he is and he has a whole bunch of people behind him that think he is great.  He might actually do some of the stuff he says.  You have to give me something!  Something I can use to get his attention away from you."

Some of us have worked for that type of boss in the past.

In three months the shock will have worn off.  The uncertainty will have passed.  A track record will become apparent.  So Trump has got three months to sign all the deals that he needs/wants.  Then he has to get down to working the government and doing what needs to happen for 2018 senators and for 2020.

Oh, and by the way, to my American friends, "Welcome Home"  [:D
