I just bought a new PC, pretty high end, until now i had a pig of a comp and now I want to get a good army/war game for my PC.

I saw one that was developed by the US Army to train, but I want to find a good game either WW2 or recent.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

P.S.

Sorry if this post bothers anyone.

Desert Combat a mod for BF1942 is good.

By the way. It will bother people, Its in the wrong topic. It should be going to Off topic.

Try Battlefield 1942 or Call of Duty.

There is also an on-line game called "WWII Online". Its about $10 per month, but the map is 1/2 the scale of real Europe and Britian. It is an awsome game.

Call of Duty, great WW2 Game

Americas Army, devolped by the US Army, its not a training tool for the army, its ment for recruiting. It is very good game.

WWII Online is awesome and addicting.
America‘s Army (developed by US Army) is a fun FPS based on Unreal Tournament Engine, the graphics are great, and it is free to download.

Call of Duty. Get Call of Duty. Sweetest game ever.

America‘s Army is supposed to be good, and free.

The half-life mod "Day of Defeat" is pretty decent for a free multiplayer game. That is, if you have half-life.

Cheers

If you want realism, go for Ghost Recon. Amazing game, so many weapons to choose from. If you‘re a gunnut like me, Ghost Recon is the choice.

Medal Of Honour: Allied Assault
Or Medal of Honour: Allied Assault Breakthrough

Both are super fantastic games. Battlefield 1942 and BF 1942: Road To Rome are excellent, Call of Duty excellent x2.

Americas army,Operation flashpoint, Medal of honor Allied assault & Spear Head

Canadian MOD for ghost recon: http://www.tacticalgames.net/index.htm

Americas Army is the ULTIMATE modern tac sim. It‘s American, but I call my clan Canadas Army. This is THE game to go for if you want REALISM. It‘s free. Can‘t beat that. =)

You can also try the Forgotten Hope, Eve of Destruction, and Desert Combat mods for the popular BF1942 all found at http://www.bf42.com.

*** There even a CANADIAN WARFARE mod for BF1942, but it‘s in desparate needs of modders out there. So if your curious check out: http://planetbattlefield.com/cdnwarfare.

If you want to try out a upcoming game developed for the US Army that is totally RPG/ Tactic/ Sim then check out the video to: http://www.fullspectrumwarrior.com/index.php It looks amazing, but it is not a FPS. Go check out the videos in the Media section.

For a excellent armour sim go to Steel Beast made by veterans for soldiers.

The main game I have been playing online has been BF2, a couple of things I do like about it is the requirement for teamwork, you can join squads, take on a support role to supply your buddies with ammo and give them fire support with your MG. Be a Medic and help heal and revive your friends or an engineer who can repair vehicles, equipment. Depending on the server gameplay can vary from silly to very good. Helos and aircraft can be deadly though.

Downsides is "bunny-hopping", a few exploited glitches and long load times with disconnect problems.

Operation Flashpoint - by far, the best FPS of modern (Cold War era) battlefields.  The maps are HUGE, ABSOLUTELY ENORMOUS...and the gameplay is extremely realistic.  (The more you run, the more tired your guy gets, and the less accurate your crosshair is, etc, etc).

Also has some AWESOME Canadian mods for it....Griffons, G-Wagon, CADPAT, Canadian weaponry, Coyote, LAV 3, etc, etc.  Great game.

I downloaded the Demo and I LOVE IT...I still haven't beaten the Resistance Demo..each time I retry It's different. It is pretty challenging too!
I beat the original flashpoint demo(still with some difficulty)
I am getting it for my birthday!!
10/10
