OT from infantry before IE expires

I was wondering what options are out there for an infanteer to ot before the end of a 3 year IE. I wish to stay in the military but in a different trade after my 3 years. according to the PSO a full three years must be completed before lotp and 4 years for a vot. this seems unfair to those whose contracts are 3 years compared to 5. I have heard mixed things that you can put in an OT in your third year and get it before your contract is up and i've heard you can't.  PSO basically said it sucks for combat arms and is better to release and re enter. i do not wish to do this and it seems a little unfair or just not right. Any PSO's out there or anyone that can clarify for sure or any other options.  cheers

LOTP if for those with between 3 and 6 years of service

Most CEOTP trades require 4 years of service.

AVOTP i'm not sure about.

Sign your IE25, complete your VIE and apply under LOTP as soon as you qualify for time.
