I cant decide which vehicle to go with, i want to see what the general population has to say about it

Given current gas prices and all, I'd suggest the Rabbit, much more fuel efficient.

Yeah, but if you take alright care of those cars they last forever.

ive owned a rabbit for two years before my aspire and buick, only reason it failed was cause the tranny got spread out all over Jasper Ave :'(

Keep the Buick, until you can save lots for a good down payment on a new vehicle.

That will give you the opportunity to research what vehicle would be the best for your needs.

And you can find some great dealer/company discounts like the "Employee/Family" ones.

Someguyincanada:

Keep the Buick.
My brother drove an old rabbit for about two years and couldn't afford the cost of replacement parts for it (new tranny etc). So, even if it is more fuel efficient, and you will not have to participate in the Drive Clean program (because the bunny is old), you will pay through the nose to get parts at a VW dealership. Most junkyards don't carry cars or stock parts over ten years old. I should know, I drive an '82 Ford Escort Wagon! Try getting parts for that sucker!
So, keep the Buick. It has some monetary trade-in value.
If you truly love the rabbit, you really need access to a really good used parts dealer. Good luck!  ;D

Get a corvette! I'm saving for one, even if the gas goes to $2.00 a litre! :dontpanic:

Q - what are you using the vehicle for? Daily driving, long distance, towing anything, cargo?
Q - Other then part replacement, will you be doing any of the mechanics? (Even if parts are cheap, if it takes 4x mechanic time, you may not be saving.)
Q - What is upcoming costs for the truck vs rabbit? (mileage)

Keep the buick. Rabits are ugly in my opinion and since the car your looking at is pretty old you will need alot of maintance and parts for VWs any VWs are very expensive so what you save in gas you just lose it in the cost of upkeep. So go with the buick it's a good reliable car parts are fairly cheap in comparison and save your money until you can afford a newer vehicle.

Kyle.

Get the Rabbit.... for gas mileage and the buick for part replacement cost !!!

if your in edmonton theres 4 or five auto wreckers you can get parts at for the wabbit . i dont know what these guys are talking about haveing to get replacement parts only through vw dealers ,you can get parts at other places too. manyppl just never get beyond that stage others do and can save a bundle ...  id personally go with the rabbit
