    PERs : All issues questions...2003-2019

I am currently using the CFPAS program to complete some PER's and am having some problems with the help file.  Specifically, I can't open it, when I click on help nothing happens (the help file is also suppose to open automatically when I open the program but that doesn't happen either)...  Has...

time in rank after re enrolment

I am currently in the process of fighting to keep my previous time in rank after recently re enrolling. Here is what happened.... I was re enrolled in March 2014 after being out of the military for nearly 5 years (at that time I had been an Lt for 2yrs).  I kept my rank and all my training was...

    Internet at CFB Valcartier

I am currenly at CFB Valcartier and am having difficulty accessing the internet. Is there anywhere on base that we can have access to wifi, or just regular internet ? And if not where is the closest place to have access to wifi, other than the timmies just off base? I did do a search but...

    course staff officer

Thanks for all the info guys.  I was actually planning on asking the officers at my Regiment as well but I thought I'd get the perspectives of others as well, more information and points of view can't hurt...

    course staff officer

I have tried searching for anything on this subject and have come up blank, mainly due to the fact that there is too much traffic on the site and I am unable to use the search function.  So I apologize if this has been discussed before. This summer I will be a course officer, on which course I...

EDITORIAL: Every soldier deserves our respect - A comment on the fading "newsworthiness" of soldiers

Very well put  Babbling Brooks, it is very true that people who are not involved with the army or the mission in Afghanistan have very little reaction when it comes to the deaths of our brothers in arms. Unfortunately most people(read civvies) do not realize what soldiers do for them, or that...

    Phase 3 Infantry info

Hi all, Before anyone tells me that they will give me everything I need on course, no they don't well not on mine anyway.  I am looking for an orders format for fighting patrols (raid and ambush), the fill in the blanks type thing, I can't seem to find it, though I know people who have it an...

OCdt in weekend BMQ (reserves) ?

Having been in this particular situation I have to say that you aren't treated any differently.  Seeing as I was on Pte D. Krystal's BMQ what he says it pretty much right on.  And don't forget you don't have that commission just yet.

    Crossfit & the CF

I was also part of the "Guinea pig" platoon last summer at CTC Gagetown when they tried the crossfit program.  Although I think it's a great program it is very time consuming (especially when done with a 40-50 man platoon) and requires equipment for all pers doing the training.  This caused...

    Fighting is for men

Okay so I'm fairly certain this might open a can of worms, but I really want to know the opinion of the forum on this. So anyone who has read this thread will understand why I would like to know your opinions.  Although I am obviously hoping to prove Scipio wrong any answer works for me, it is...

    DP1 Infantry

I hope it is not inapropriate for me to post this but I don't give much detail so I think it's OK. Unfortunately the schedule for the CAP course is not available, or at least I haven't been able to find it (I do however have the scheduel for phase III infantry officer) .  However the following...

Officers doing BMQ rather than IAP?

Perhaps I can share my experience as I did both BMQ and CAP last year. After you complete BMQ you will have to do a course which is BOTP part 2, at least that's what it's called in the reserves, this course is 7 days long.  The BOTP part 2 involves small party taskings, which basically means...

    To be a soldier

Parkie, I must say I am in agreement with your grand daughter.  We can have as many history books that recount in dry terms what happened in our past and how we should be grateful for what we have now, but they are only words.  They provide no insight into the thoughts and daily lives of that...
