What happens if you are sworn in as a pilot, but failed a course (ex. phase 2,3)

Winged pilot or aspiring to be one, you're always 2 flights away from a review board....  :-\    Just don't suck.

What is happening in Moose Jaw / OJT Backlog

This whole issue was inevitable going from 100+ Tutors to a score of Harvard IIs.......that and the military use to maintain it's training fleet....my 2 cents.....

6 July 2009: MCPL Pat Audet, CPL Martin Joannette, R.I.P.

RIP Gentlemen, you sacrifice will not be forgotten.....my thoughts are with the families.  On a more personal note, MCpl Pat Audet is an exemplary human being, the kind of person that will find a little way to make you smile, no matter how crappy the day.....true salt of the earth.  I am proud...

I can't believe it. How did this happen?

Well said.  It took me 11 years to get my crack at being a pilot.  Persistence is the key, there are other wonderful opportunities that the CF provides.  I was an NCM first, there are a tons of educational and experience opportunities to be had at all levels.  "Don't give up your dreams" as...

    CFTS delays

A "little" long is an understatement.  Just imagine not using "months" anymore ;) On the bright side, things should improve in the future.

    Career progression for helicopter pilots

Confirmed, have worked for/with many guys falling under para (b).  Not easy life in TacHel.

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

My two cents....if being a pilot is what you want to do, keep trying.  You only do ASC once so if you get it, you can always apply when things open up.  It means you have the necessary skills/aptitudes to one day be given the opportunity to fly.  That being said, i've served 11 years before...

Father and son on an Afghan mission

Great story! I only wish one day to fly with one of my sons.  :)  Good on them, Knock Sr. is a great man, have met on more than one occasion.  :cdn:

    Drug Running Subs

Knowing many people in the MP community, and given that their work is highly classified, i'm sure they get to do some pretty cool stuff to break the monotony of 13 hour sovereignty patrols.  I can only imagine this is one of many things they can't receive credit for.  BZ MP :salute:

    Decent Pilot OJTs

They are indeed.  I hope to get one of these spots :)  Never hurts to ask and i'm quite sure they're looking for more than one person.  Great squadron, allow you to get involved in the real day to day running of an operational squadron and the Twin Otter is a truly great aircraft which you...

WW2 German fighter pilot saved U.S. bomber crew

In Germany during the Nazi rule 1933-1945, they had youth programs very similar to our cadet program here.  Once 12 Y/O, you went more or less mandatory to one of these as dictated by your family.  I imagine this gentleman was in the air branch of the Hitler Youth.  Hope this helps, great story...

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

Yes I am, but off to BOTQ pretty quick.....and "Promoted" is an overstatement.....  ;) My best advice to everyone for ASC is do what you're told, relax, enjoy the experience and some things are beyond your control. Oh and it is 2 types of trainers but don't fret....i'm 6'4" ;)
