Return of NDI 75: Veteran Service Card [Merged]

It's a shame that they don't issue the NDI 75 anymore.  I recently lost my wallet, and with it, my NDI 75.  It was an official document and the only tangible proof of service.  I've requested a CF One card only because I need it for luggage fee waivers, but it won't be the same - there's no...

    Military Discounts List

In contract to Air Canada, WestJet's media release doesn't specify that it includes retired CAF personnel, in addition to those serving.  Has anyone here used the West Jet baggage discount as a retired CAF member? http://westjet2.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=597

His last Tweet, from last Sunday 22 Feb, reads: "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory." Thank you for the memories, Leonard Nimoy.

Former Part-Time Soldiers Now Waiting up to 2 Years For Severance

I know this is different from severance, but my "immediate" unreduced annuity from a medical release took two years to calculate and start payments.  This was a Res F pension.  When anyone gets out, they'd better have a steady source of income for a while, and not be relying on funds they're...

February 2015: Sgt. Mark Salesse, R.I.P.

Without getting into factors in this particular situation, I'd be interested in finding out more about the protocols, in general, for CAF mbrs wearing avalanche transceivers when training in the mountains.  My thoughts are with Mark's family, and his unit.  He was a good friend.  Hear hear...

Domestic Terrorism/Public Attacks on CAF Personnel

    Quote from CBC.ca's live feed:

Domestic Terrorism/Public Attacks on CAF Personnel

As long as disagreeing as to root causes is not confused with not caring!  ;)

Domestic Terrorism/Public Attacks on CAF Personnel

My thoughts exactly.  Disseminating that news is part of a public safety response, at this point.

Domestic Terrorism/Public Attacks on CAF Personnel

Haven't heard this through the CoC yet, but CBC (Steve Rukavina) is reporting that CAF mbrs are ordered not to wear uniforms in public unless "on active duty".
