Really late to the party here but here goes....
When I joined the CAF, Scoty wished me luck, thanked me for carrying the torch, and told me to stay in touch - this was about 8 years ago. I wanted to make sure I made something of myself before I reached back to him, but just found out that he had passed a while ago... I got to confess, I'm really shaken.
Well, Scoty, in the time in between, I have been promoted a bunch of times, been on tons of exercises, and taskings, and recently returned from my first deployment in January. Wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying yourself, and please know that I took your words and encouragement to heart and I hope I have done you proud.
I just wish I had reached out to you sooner.
