Who amongst the political and military commentators are your choices?

Mine? From a workmen's compensation and wrongful dismissal ex-lawyer like me?
I must be the best and most credible source....

names:

PETER WORTHINGTON, Toronto Sun, oh his arguments are the best and most logical ones. No one can match his best quips

SALIM MANSOUR, Toronto Sun, oh , he was the journalist who was able to successfully reconcile Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, etc.   and has the best quips against Sunni terrorism.

I BOW DOWN BEFORE THIS GREAT JOURNALISTS. To me, what ever they write and say, are the last say. Kudos!!

Peter Worthington in Canada and Thomas Friedman in the USA.

M.   ;)

P.S.   Diane Francis also deserves honourable mention although she's a little more politics/economics focused.

If my memory serves me right, Diane and Claude Morin whose arguments against separatism have been the most plausible have both gotten bullying experiences from French diplomats. And these meek, non-violent, non-hegemonic, and non-racist journalists should be nominated for heroism. Diane, if my memory serves me right got death threats too. Oh my, she's not alone. I myself have been one of the most "battered". Everyday i either get prank calls, provocation, harrassment, and those glances and stares that will make any peace loving ottawan uncomfortable and lose sleep. I pray!

Mark Steyn is THE "One-Man Global Content Provider" but is more popular abroad than at home.  :cdn:

His latest "Steyn On Canada" (from Western Standard) is here: http://www.marksteyn.com/index2.cfm?edit_id=23

Most of the Journalists I know in fact no nothing about the military, particularly the Canadian Forces - this is the fault of Canadian grade, highschool, and university teachers they have
been exposed to- having said that, Peter Worthington a former RCNVR and officer in the
Princess Pats (his father was Major General Worthington, a great soldier). Mark Steyn
is the one of the best commentators on the international stage. unfortunately not
appearing in the National Post. Pugleise, Ottawa Citizen knows his stuff, as well as Jonathan
Kay at the Post. Scott Taylor is a more than competent reporter, but I have never been
sure of just what motivates his writing, which today is somewhat anti American. The Canadian
Forces rarely are mentioned in the British papers, except where they are remembered with
great admiration for their roles in both World Wars and Korea, particularly in the Telegraph.
John Keegan, who writes for the Telegraph one commented that by the end of World War
II in Europe, the Canadian Army was the finest fighting Army in the theatre - certainly
the Germans thought so. In my opinion, despite the politicians, the Canadian Army is one
of the best operational and fighting units in the world. Cheers, MacLeod 3 October 2004

Robert Young Pelton - World's Most Dangerous Places. Best author/journalist ever. No bullshit, straight to the point, and actually visits the places he writes about. Cheers -Cameron

Chris Wattie, Stephen Thorne and Terry Pedwell for their time spent reporting on our Army.
Christie Blatchford, for her coverage of coroner's inquests and military topics.
Hamida Ghafour from The Telegraph, for her insightful dispatches from Kabul.

Quite a few friends from the Sun: Peter Worthington as a veteran, Gary Dunford for Page 6, Valerie Gibson for all the titillation, Rita Demontis for going on Winter Indoc in Meaford, Christina Blizzard, Thane Burnett, Michele Mandel, Mike Strobel, Joe Warmington, John Downing.

And right now, I'm extremely appreciative of Robert Cribb and Lois Kalchman for blowing the whistle on that leech Hyman:

IMHO his two pieces posted from Kabul (the "Frog missile" piece and the "Too much force protection" piece) were both rubbish. I used to have some time for him, but IMHO his articles are increasingly shrill and out of touch. Cheers.

I think he was doing work for CNN in Afghanistan.  Website is here: http://www.comebackalive.com/

Check out "Dangerous Places" in the online version of the "Dangerfinder" (somewhat dated, but both hilarious and informative): http://www.comebackalive.com/df/index.htm

Everybody ages, sooner or later, some more gracefully than others ... the trick is knowing when to hang up the skates ...
