During the later part of the campaign in North West Europe the 5th Division converted some Ram gun tanks into flamethrower conversions. Unlike the “Badger” these retained their turrets and gun armament. Like the Badger the flame gun was housed in the bow machine gun position.
I have been unable to find any official record of these conversions being used, particularly photographic evidence. Can anyone confirm whether these vehicles were used in a combat role? Second question, was the gun armament on these vehicles ever used in a combat role?
