this better be a joke!

no, its not.

Can Support Comd is getting the new CADPAT Beret. After all, if CANSOFCOM can have its own...

the slip on should not be worn on the tie, but that is for the COM RSM to decide.

I got this "joke"
in my email....

Personally.. untill I see something in orders...  its a joke.

I know the army can be pathetic.. but.....
cadpat beret? :(

Well at work today guess what Stock number I had to build into my Warehouse?

21-913-6214: Necktie, Canadian Forces, Disruptive Pattern

Score one for the "consultant" who came up with this baby.   ;D

Yes - just got told we have to wear these (beep)ing ties with our lab coats at work now.  Some crackhead in Ottawa has got a serious case of CRIS - Cranio-Rectal Insertion Syndrome.

My rant.

MM

just watch, this will be the first piece of kit in history that reservists WON"T have to wait 10 years to get  :D

What about cadpat oxfords ?

man, this is un-real.

Ok already..the kit is getting bad enough...really going overboard. STOP giving them ideas!!

MM did they tell you about us medical people having to wear this in the clinics?

Like I need a tie?

Like I said - with the lab coats.  Since we keep neglecting to wear our DEU's, I guess this is some dweeb's way of making us get on board.

MM

well, it beats the bow tie idea they originally had.

The mess dinner in Borden in 04 when they did that (CADPAT with CADPAT bow tie), looked rather silly.

Wait... has this gone from being a joke to being serious??

The photos originated as a private joke - I am close friends with one of the originators of this.  Unfortunately, the photos have garnered far more attention than were intended.  Armyvern, PM inbound.

In our command, the slip on is to be worn in it's usual position on the CADPAT shirt.  The tie will be tucked through the slip on, thus allowing the rank to be displayed and negating any requirement for a tie clip.

A-AD-265 will be amended accordingly

;)  OK... it's a joke... but I couldn't resist!!!

While the photos may have been initially a well intention joke, such ideas have a habit of morphing into a reality. Do you forget so easily the garrison dress jacket?

The army is transforming, unit identifications are changing too. CADPAT beret is coming, the tie...not far off either.

My jungle telegraph must be defective.  Last I heard from "an informed source", they had settled on CADHAT for the beret, vice HATPAT... anyone able to confirm the name change?
