I applied last night in response to a reply I received from an officer who recommended me to apply before the end of this month. After having read through more than a few threads  :crybaby:, I think I've made a few mistakes while applying, am I being delusional?

I chose what I concluded to be the most in demand choices, I think I'd honestly go into any science as long as it has the integrated militaristic aspects, I'm into science and I feel an obligation to to use my potential for the greatest cause I have a chance with, instead of working my way up to big money.  :salute:

I chose medical, engineering, and pharmaceutic officer as you can see from my signature box below. I came to find from forces.ca that there aren't even any engineering occupations in demand. One thread that I came across, included information regarding the less frequent enrollment pharmacists, since the acceptance is referable to whether or not top universities in Canada would also accept you, and another thread that provided me with the newly known info that for enrollment into medical, I need to first pursue a bachelors degree at a different university.

In my application, I provided a good idea of how the leadership and responsibility challenges I undergo on a daily basis, being 18 in my graduating year of high school, and living on my own. I made sure to include the extreme authority that health and fitness holds over my life, as well as the priority of my education. However, the thing that I fear the most is my recent jobs description. I've had three employments in my life, two of them weren't even documented, (Family friends stuff. mowing the lawn type of jobs) that said, I imputed the only job I could remember, a meat cutter at the deli of superstore, back in the summer after grade 10, 2011. How harshly will this effect my application? I feel like there isn't a large amount of opportunity to explain your capabilities in the application, it asks for exact values, and all I have are approximate, scribbley equal sign values  :'(

Greetings

I've acknowledged that there is a fair chance to be unaccepted into ROTP for enrollment in September, and as recommended by almost every officer or administrative personnel that I've gotten the chance to speak to, I am applying to other universities. However, if this was a post about other universities, I should have probably posted it in some "Other Universities" type of forum, instead of leaving everyone bedazzled here contemplating my reason for being. For the sake of your contemplation of the true necessity of my life having to be, I have not made this post about other universities.

My occupation is bound to me, to become a part of the military, this is imminent due solely to the power of my ignorance and motivation. I'm currently in my last year of high school, with a semester and a half left. I've applied as you can see below in my signature, for med, eng, and pharmaceutical officer. The problem is that I am already getting a sense that warns me of a fall, and in response planning how to get back up, hence the reason why I made a get back up. Plan. Two in fact.

I am applying for schools across Canada for engineering. This is because I've read that I could be enrolled next year and have that one year of engineering counted thus allowing me to finish ROTP training and education in 3 years. By doing this I will edit my application for the single position of aeronautical engineering, though i'm not so sure if this is a smart idea, but having started engineering for the purpose of aerospace, should I still have ease on to which career i'm placed in?

My alternative back up plan is more of a fantasy, although I know its possible, i'm not sure if the moral of it is an acceptable motive. Being a pilot would no doubt be a fun career, especially if you have the potential. Its just that i'm not sure if I should be making decisions based on whats fun or not, I mean, if that were the case why become an officer, why not just become a party animal, with honors, and specialist training  in twerking? Any-who regardless of whether or not its fun, it is still a hard job, that serves a great deal in the military, with advancing technology, test pilots are in fact an essential part of the process, and to think of wars without fighters, that would be insane. So my second back up would be to get into Seneca, for aviation tech and flight training, altering my application for and to the purpose being a pilot, unexceptionally with no other occupations in mind.

Even though i'm looking for a recruiter to address this, I would greatly appreciate any response. Thoughts? Advice? Another back up plan of your own or one for me? I really hope to get some confusions exterminated though this thread.

Thanks

I'm not a Recruiter, but have worked in Recruiting and am in the Medical Service, so I can say this - if you're applying for Medical Officer or Pharmacy Officer, you need to get accepted in to medical school or pharmacy school first.  They are not ROTP programs.  And since you're still in high school, either is unlikely at this point, since you generally need a couple years of university (minimum) under your belt to get into those programs in Canada.

So those are out of the question already...

The only thing I could get into is then engineering?

How do I change what I've placed in my application, i haven't known until now that this is the case.

Also, would you know anything about my plan for aviation tech and flight training? Will i be schooled for 8 years in total instead of the normal 4 years after being directly accepted to rmc?

Thanks for taking the time to answer what you could  :salute:

Aviation Tech is an NCM trade, not an officer classification.  You can't go into it via ROTP.  If you want to fly, ask to be a Pilot or ACSO.  You want to fix them, ask for aerospace engineering (if you want to be an officer).

How you change things online, well that's above my pay grade I'm afraid.

Actually what I meant to say is going to Seneca, as they have aviation technology program, including co-op and flight training.

I've read that doing this is recommended if you're applying for pilot.

If this is true, my question is if this is just beneficial for me and the team, or if it contributes to my total training or education required, and would doing this program insure me into ROTP, why is it recommended for pilots?

If it is truly the right path take for becoming a pilot, when I get the chance, i'm going to change my application, and if I don't get accepted for september, I will go ahead to the program I mentioned and hope for acceptance afterwords.

Is this a good idea at all? Is the 4 years worth it? Will it be extra or will it weigh anything in 4 year ROTP program that I would apply for afterwords at rmc?

Thanks for responding its great to see someone cares enough to answer whatever they can to help..

Good day M.Hamada,

I have linked your occupation choices to our website. There, you will be able to find more information on your chosen occupations and entry programs. I have also included a link to the RMC website that lists the academic prerequisites.

Medical Officer (Medical Officer Training Plan): You must obtain admission in a recognized Canadian University Medical program. There is no ROTP program for Medical Officer.

Pharmacy Officer (ROTP): You will require unconditional acceptance to an undergraduate program in a pharmacy school from a Canadian university. The Forces currently have one position available for 2015. RMC does not offer an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy.

Aerospace Engineering Officer (ROTP): This occupation is available for 2015. If you are applying to this occupation, you will most likely have to do your undergraduate degree at the Royal Military College of Canada. In some cases, applicants can go to a Canadian civilian university. For RMC, you will need to ensure that you meet the academic requirements listed here.

Pilot: There are two programs that you could apply for, should you be interested in this occupation. If you choose to go ROTP, most undergraduate degrees offered at RMC are acceptable for pilot. The other program is the Air Environmental Affiliated Degree (AEAD), or commonly known as CEOTP Pilot. You would apply to the Forces, and if enrolled, you would attend Seneca college. All your pilot training would be conducted by the Forces, while completing your degree. For more information please visit the Forces page on CEOTP Pilot.

Have a look at the sticky topics in Ask a CAF Recruiter: http://army.ca/forums/threads/116600.0.html These are all the occupations that are open for ROTP 2015-2016.
