I have a chance to spend a four day September weekend in Vancouver.
My wife will be at a conference so I will be mostly on my own.
We will be staying in a downtown hotel.
Thoughts on what I can see/do during my four days?

Would it be possible or wothwhile to do a day visit to Victoria?

Thanks for all info.  :)

What're your interest areas ?

Victoria is a day trip if you car + ferry or you can spend $$ and floatplane over from Vancouver harbor in 30 minutes . .  Unless you like flowers, not that much in Victoria

Lots of hiking, kayaking, sailing, golf etc right in Vancouver

Drive to Whistler (2hr) and spend a day there up on top  ..  Take the Peak to Peak Gondola, zip line there or at Grouse Mt.

Tons of great restaurants in Vancouver . . .  Any cuisine favorites I can make recommendations or if you want a special night out to impress the wife .. .

BC Lions stadium is downtown, same place the Whitecaps play . . .  Check their websites for home games.

If you have a clear night, I'd recommend the observatory. You could also go for a tour and/or tasting at the Granville Island brewery (along with the rest of Granville island), the Vancouver Aquarium, VAG if you like art, the PNE/Playland or the iMax theatre if you're a kid at heart, the BC Lions if you're into that sort of thing and it works with your weekend...

Thanks for the advice guys.
In the meantime I finally woke up and realized I could do my usual thing, ask Google.  :)
Which led to one of my favourite sites tripadvisor.ca with loads of info and advice on the Vancouver/Victoria area.

Thanks anyway.
