I don't know who would waste their time creating a site like this with all the ads and links but.....the creater definitly is trying to confuse people

??? wow, someone is a friggin' moron. thats not even funny.

Wow.. they have a lot of time on their hands, lol, but kinda funny, ^^

Hate to say it guys but this is no joke...Way too professional and way too much time spent on the thing. For one thing, every link actaully works...This took moocho time and effort!

Whoever did this needs a lesson in manners though!

Nope its fake, its just a CCN.com page they saved then edited, pretty easy to do, the reason why all the links works is that the page links back to Cnn.com and not www.world-cnn.com check your address bar, and the pic of Mr. Bush is photoshoped. But this is one sick guy trying to start ****, hopefully many people will realize that this isn't real news, and wont take it as a grain of salt or whatever that saying is.

Yeah that is crazy. Someone spent a lot of time on it, to make everything work.

it's not like they did it by hand - just a simple cut and paste into FrontPage or Contribute or somefink, then change the main story.  You can whip up a page like that in 5 minutes.

Absolutely rediculous someone would even bother to do that! They must not have a job or any friends!!!

It'll take much more than that to incite a war anyway, wouldn't they know that!?!

Someone aught to voice our displeasure to Mr Phineas! :fifty:

I am pretty sure this is a internet Art project.

I googled the name Liu Phineas and came up with the name of the artist Virgil Wong. If Virgil did do this, he is trying to keep himself somewhat disassociated from it. There is a blog by Liu Phineas on rythospital.com. if you do a whois query for rythospital.com, you get an admin contact that has an e-mail address at genochoice.com. the registrant of genochoice.com is virgil wong, and if you go to his web page, you'll find the RYT hospital and genochoice linked as they were both previous projects of his. The ryhospital.com has a message saying they have come under internet attacks recently, and a lot of stuff seems to be shut down....ahh internet warfare. So much fun.

Anyway, I guess the artist is trying to make a statement about how misinformation is all to easily communicated on the internet, and taken for real. The arrest of our George Bush is a nice way to grab someone's attention.

No Pieman It isn't. Its stupid and dangerous.

Remember war of the worlds? If enough people believe something then there exists the possability of all kinds of damage.

This kind of thing should be stopped before it gets out of hand.

You are right Slim, misinformation is dangerous. But there is plenty of misinformation on the internet that is not obviously wrong or incorrect like that webpage. And it does cause problems in this world because too many people don't read with a critical eye.

On that note, Perhaps the 'artist' could have thought of a better way to get his point across (If I am correct in interpreting that was his point)

Speaking of 'art' I was in the Tate modern art gallery in the UK recently....man, I got some issues with what passes for 'art' these days.  ::)  ???

I sent an email off to CNN, here was there response.

Thank you for alerting us to the Web site containing an article purporting to be a CNN article.   As you may have surmised, spammers often disguise the source of their e-mail and/or websites in an attempt to add legitimacy to their offers or stories.   We have turned this over to our legal department who will investigate and handle.   Thank you again for taking time to bring it to our attention.

Thanks again for your interest and keep your browser pointed to http://cnn.com

Sincerely,

CNN Public Information - kepi

Actually,I bet that the "artist"  did think long and hard about that project! and the most damaging way in which to do it...

Interesting how the link doesn't work anymore
