Deployment and taxes

I have a question about deployment and the tax free on monthly pay.  Does the tax free applied to a member's pay also include PLD?  I know that PLD is already taxed and since I am deployed this fall I wanted to know if PLD is also tax free.

You are tax exempt on any salary you make from the military including otherwise taxable allowances such as PLD, up to the maximum monthly salary of the CFCWO (roughly 8000.00)

Remember; that was a "general answer" to a "general question".

Not all Deployed Troops are entitled to the Tax Exemption while Deployed.  Some are still Taxed.  For more specifics, it is advised that you visit your Unit OR and make sure that you have your individual situation clarified.

I agree, in my situation I am going to a tax-free location.
