I just recently got into a hunting foursome, so next year, I'll be going hunting for some moose.
So I finally have justification to buy a hunting rifle. I don't flinch, mostly due to firing so many rounds with my 22 and I can handle recoil, as it's fun to shoot 3.5" shot out of my 12.
I'm also a good size (6'3" 220, not much fat).
So, what caliber should I look at? I've done tons of reading, and 30-06 seems to be the go to caliber, especially for those who handload (I will NOT be handloading). I've also read that the 308 is great too.
Anyone have experience with these and other calibers and willing to share some insight?
