So, small government means compulsory proof of ID to watch porn online? Neat.

So he agrees, but (as per the article) won’t commit to legislation and acknowledges that most of those rules aren’t set by the federal government…

From the article:
While Poilievre’s positions on trans issues are drawing criticism, public opinion surveys suggest that a wide margin of Canadians are on board with those policies.

A recent Postmedia-Leger poll found that nearly half of Canadians support the idea of banning gender reassignment surgery and puberty blockers for minors, while more than two-thirds agree that transgender women should not be allowed to compete in female sports categories.

Canadians seem to agree with CPC's stance on this whole issue.

I wonder how the topic came up in the Kitchener press conference, was it a question from the media?

I mean, that also means they'll have to hire reviewers to confirm what is and is not porn.

"Department of Canadian Heritage is hiring bilingual Erotica Assessment Team Management Ensigns to ensure compliance with new Federal legislation. Are you pornography connaisseur? Join the Government as an EAT-ME expert."

CBSA's got a team already looking at stuff re: import/export, so just add to THEIR in basket :)

No worries. GC Strategies, a small company in Ottawa will handle that. for a reasonable fee.

Could be as simple as "Are you human" verification (simpler, if identifying all pictures with an "X" in them isn't part of the test). "Are you 18" (or whatever age is required). If digital ID and more intrusive measures aren't on the table, I can't imagine anything more sophisticated.

Meh, got to hit the over 18 box on a lot of firearms supply sites already. Perhaps, if someone lies and something happens, they should charge the parents for not supervising their child or ensuring the child locks are set on the computer. When my daughter got her first phone, I locked a lot of stuff out and set the child parameters. I also reviewed her online history every week. She pushed back at first, but I explained I owned the phone. Now you don't even need the phone, you can monitor it all through your PC without alerting your kid.

Parents need to start doing their jobs.

Capitalize the B in bilingual…

… as long as there is not a skill testing CAPCHA …(find all the images with ___)

It’s true, I used to be signed up for their quarterly quite hilarious ‘banned titles’ update email.
I still am - and cannot unsee what I see on that thing some days :)

$80K or so I hear - or is that their opening bid?

So... He's stating a personal opinion, but not looking to overstep his bounds to create legislation... The bastard!
