Replacement of Browning HP, Sig Sauer 225 begins

So the recent PM's visit to the north has brought back the issue of the Rangers needing new rifles. Has anyone heard anything about the BHP replacement lately? Is it still shelved until they figure out a better criteria?

Canada Command boss: More equipment than needed?!?

Sure we may have enough on the books. But some units have up to an 80% VOR rate on their heavy lift vehicles right now...

    Improved Combat Uniform

I happen to agree that semantics and the whole "Holier than thou" attitude really does turn people off of participating on this forum. Sure someone may be a SME, but that doesn't mean they need to come off as a jerk. On topic, I would like to pose a question. Could this pattern be the next for...

Challenger/"VIP" Jet/CF Chopper Use (CDS, others) [merged]

And people like to call the military "brainwashed". Who's more brainwashed? The military because they follow a set of rules in order to do their job and defend their country? Or the general populace because they believe anything the media tells them?

    Improved Combat Uniform

Wow. Someone certainly hates the Sgt Majs. Got jacked up one too many times for not listening to "the man's" rules?

Challenger/"VIP" Jet/CF Chopper Use (CDS, others) [merged]

Technically speaking, we are... >:D But that gets into the same lines as our truck fleet and the maintenance budget that they keep burning through, because we're not using them enough, and they sit and leak fluids.... but that's a whole different story altogether.

Challenger/"VIP" Jet/CF Chopper Use (CDS, others) [merged]

G2G Very well said. Thank you for explaining that so well. Browsing the various news sites, Canoe.ca seems to be the most unbiased that I have come across. Reporting it as news, and not as an attack on the General's personal character. The reporter in this video even says "...Shake your head on...

Challenger/"VIP" Jet/CF Chopper Use (CDS, others) [merged]

I've read the stories, and seen how quickly they were swept to the back pages of the media websites. I was in attendance at the Grey Cup with the CDS. He both arrived and left Edmonton in uniform. And he attended multiple functions and meetings while he was here for the weekend. This goes...

Worried about basic training? Think you don't have what it takes?

Close. The older person that I know was on my Basic. He was 51 and could keep up with any one of the younger guys.

    Real Speech Impediment (Not stutter)

I'd suggest you go in and talk to the recruiters/medical officer and see if they think it may limit your job choices. Other than that, there should be no problem. I work with a guy that has a pretty bad stutter. It takes him about 4 or 5 tries to get something out. And to top it off, he's...
