Ah. Missed the part she "originally" applied ROTP - but still can if all the spots for med tech are filled.  i'm just jittery because i know how competitive nursing officer is, that's all.

If I may interject respectfully, suppose you apply ROTP nursing, wouldn't it be a waste of spot if there was another applicant who truly wanted to become a nursing officer for the sake of becoming a nursing officer?  And wouldn't it be a waste of military training money?

Why twice?

For anybody who thinks there is still a huge demand for nursing, not anymore.  There were zero DEO spots this year.  ZERO.  I get worried everytime PM Harper shows his face on tv.

I'm having dinner, otherwise I'd say yes.  ;)

Went to the site and looked under "browse jobs".  All the check marks are gone.

Well, that's exactly it.  In one ear, out the other. However, I'm saying there are Canadians out there educating themselves with news reports (and maybe personal biases), and getting skewed or incomplete ideas about the CF. Hence, all the bull. It may be time for MANY Canadians to educate...

I am not at all surprised by his parents' comments.  I've heard plenty of my own including a few who did bring up the issue of sexual harrassment, presumably, in light of the recent RCMP allegations.  i'm no authority to say whether the two are the same organization, or whether possible...

Frinky73, I was crushed when I found out that there were zero DEO NO spots for this year, basically, due to budget cuts and other reasons.  No selections at all for this year.  The future looks bleak.  I should have joined in the past ten years when nursing was in demand.

How do you feel in terms of integration with the military?  ie. Do you feel you are fully in the Canadian Forces despite being part-time? Have reservists been able to work seamlessly with regular force members on common missions/tasks?
