She's soon to be an OCdt, but in CIC so AFAIK she won't receive them from stores.

If she's issued a uniform to wear, then she'll get the slip ons for it.

Its in reference to one of my now-pte friends saying, I'm done _____ of the processing, that makes me half a private? I should change that...any day I'll be attested.

I'm about 3 hours away from the asu so can't get to supply, so thats why I was asking. However next time I'm down on the coast I'll see if I can get some.

Just for curiosities sake, when did they start issuing these? When I was at Comox this summer the CWO was talking about them, but I didn't see them.

It was changed because of another one of those 'air force' distinction things, nothing against our air force brethren of course :). The thing was they were complaining that they cant see the blue on CADPAT, and thus they wanted to change it.

I didn't think CIC air wore CADPAT at all, it's not in your tables of allocation right? Why would you need either the CADPAT or the OD clip ons?

I"ve use to work with CIC Air and never seen them wear CADPAT. May be things have changed.

No.  I don't do that stuff.  However, I DID get my CAG slip ons yesterday...of course without the CAG nametapes to go with it...

So its CAG slip-ons...CADPAT nametapes with blue thread and CADPAT uniforms.

Well done.

::)

Well done indeed. One is a Supply system stocked item. One is not and is delivered by a contractor.

I'm sure that you kept your CADPAT slipons to wear so you are of a uniform standard of dress until your new nametapes arrive? Right?? ::)

Roger that.  And, as I was talking to the folks there, they were going thru the first shipment of nametapes that arrived, after being ordered in October they said.  I said "Isn't there a 30-day thing in the contract for them to be delivered or something?" and the guy looked at me and said "Don't even ask about that."

So I take it CFB Halifax is having some issues with the contractor.  My CADPAT/blue thread name tapes still aren't there.

;D

My "well done" comment is not so much directed at the Supply and Contractors, but more to the CoC.  I have seen more combinations of different dress in the last week than I thought possible.  Some of this, some of that.

I guess, IMHO, this is all just a waste.  I don't see what was wrong with the original, CADPAT with green thread ranks.  Just a waste of Joe and Jane Taxpayers money from my perspective.

Bottom line to me is...we could be doing better things with all that $$.

Actually, I did.  BUT the word I got was to wear the new slip-on with the CADPAT nametape.  Thats why I said what I said...there is 3 different combo's on the go that I have seen WRT to this, so this makes it a CoC issue to me.  Clear direction hasn't been given OR is not being followed.

Now my common sense tells me "where your blue thread stuff until your complete CAG stuff arrives" but...once I am told to change, I will have to grin and bear it!  ;D

CADPAT or any operational clothing is not on the CIC scale of issue (or at least not according to the latest update and the training materials for the Supply Officers course dated Jan 2007), however they can be issued on a temporary loan basis for rank qualification and specialist training.  Now that is the letter of the law.  In practice, many support bases, but not all, have issued CIC Air officers with 2 sets of CADPAT on their docs to avoid the constant issue and return every time they take their units into the field for their supplemental training program or for the various course offerings within the CIC.  It may not be right, but it will get sorted out well above most of us.  In the interim, some have some don't.

It is not on the AIR or NAVY version of the Scale of Issue, but it is on the ARMY version of the Scale of Issue.  Just clarifying.
