Anyone in the Windsor area interested in seeing the FM212 Lancaster bomber rolling down Howard Ave, it will be leaving the "Shoebox" at 0600, and will probably arrive at Devonshire Mall around 0900-1000. It will be situated in the Sears parking lot for two weeks, where tours will be given, among other fanfare. After Mother's Day, it will be in its own place at Windsor Airport, which will make it a hell of a lot easier to do restoration.
Just thought I'd let anybody know if they're interested.

It will be very interesting and historical seeing a Lancaster flatbedded down a major street in Windsor to Devonshire Mall.  We are providing a recce troop mounted in G-Wagon to assist in the escort process.

Yeah, I was there when you guys came by on Tuesday, and today (yesterday now) too. I won't be sleeping tonight, as I'll be getting to the Mall for 0430. I heard the Windsor Star is going to have a photographer on top of EC Row, and I'm going to see if I can manage to get some video from the same place, it should be pretty cool.

Definitely one of those times I wish Windsor was not a 3 hour drive. Although one of those times I think the drive would be worth it without a doubt, should be an interesting historical experience.

As per always, I was dealing with crackheads and missed it.

Anyone get any good pics?

I'll have to upload some and send them to you. I also have a few nice ones from my midnight security shift watching over it, it almost looks like it was in a jungle. Everything went off without a hitch, and we were done quite ahead of schedule. All in all a great experience.

Some chick actually called in a plane crash when she saw the Lancaster.  "I think the wing fell off"  ::)
