Why would you leave?

Barring any career-ending moves (getting caught in bed with the general‘s daughter, or the general, for that matter), is the choice to leave the CF usually a personal one? If you want to stay in and your contract is coming to an end, are you pretty much guaranteed a job, or is it different every time?

Ralph when I first joined back in 76 we were all told you get out what you put in which is true.

Also we were told you will know when it‘s time to leave and that‘s when you no longer enjoy it.
