VOT/VOR Spots

Just wondering if anyone has any idea as to how many VOR spots there are each year? I'm assuming it is trade specific, but are there any given number of vacancies or is it a pre-determined number of spots for each fiscal year?

Its trade specific and varies each year depending on how many people a trade needs.

Also, certain trades have a set number of people they will allow out (i.e. remuster to another trade)

Was also wondering, how are selections made? For example, is experience outside the military taken into account (IE. a PPL for someone OT'ing to PLT), or do they just consider your performance within a military setting such as courses, academics, ect.?

I'm hoping for the best, however, from what my career manager has told me; "You never know how these things go."
