Voice or Data

That's great news!

Was the inbound data prefixed with a voice tx of "Fire Mission Battery"?

Why was there no link between the TOFCS? Was it a SCO/UNIX ~ Windows compatability issue? Or is it a hardware issue (ie cables)?

I believe that it was both a harware problem and a compatability problem. I don't think anyone has thought that far.
No there was no voice prefix, the CP IFCCS had a pop-up window indicating there was a Fire Msn and data had been received.

The two questions I have is:

What was the time from tgt acquisition to first rd fired;

and since this is peacetime, how was Safety accomplished?

Once the data was passed to the sig inputing the data, first round was about 2-3 min. This included a positive safety element. Actually quite effective.

On the gunline, the CPO still had his check map and then there was also the regular version of the IFCCS to check to see if the ballistic computer was functioning accurately, as the MET message was drawn electronically off of the operational data base
