Nice link with NASA preparing the shuttles for their final days.

Looking forward to the 17th. Live right under the southern approach to Dulles, so should be able to see the Shuttle coming in.

If anyone does get to the DC area, I highly recommend going to the Air and Space Museum, both the main facility on the Mall, and the Dulles Annex.

I have a few photos from the Annex showing the Enterprise. When I get a chance I will convert from RAW format to JPEG and upload.

Looked at the other three photo galleries as well, some a trip down memory lane.  Thanks.

Sad there is nothing to replace them yet. I'll always regret not making the time to go watch a shuttle launch. :(

As promised. These were taken at the National Air & Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center (or Dulles Annex) in late November 2008.

X-37B is an orbital test vehicle more like a weapons platform. The unmanned approach would enable the US to continue space exploration without risking lives and it would certainly be cheaper.
