I was wondering what roles a Sig Op might play working with SAR. More to the point, are they attached as support staff like they are with the Infantry and CSOR or are they basically SAR tech's who are qualified as Sig ops? And if Sig ops are "attached" to SAR, are they drawn specifically from the Air Force, or could they come from the Army as well?

Thanks,
JB

No SigOps attached. All SAR Techs are taught the radio equipment/procedures to do their own comms, and it's generally just short-range chatting with the aircraft.

SigOps are welcome to remuster, as per any other trade.

Ah... I was think that this would be the case, as I can't recall ever seeing a Sig with SAR personnel. Thought I'd ask anyway.
Thanks.
