Just watched an episode of Smash Lab on Discovery, this episode they tested the ability for Rhino Liner (truck bed liner) to withstand explosions as stated by the manufacturer. The results were amazing, they eventually (through other smaller experiments) were successfully able to protect a building made of concrete cinder blocks from a car bomb ( I believe about 15lbs of explosive was used) well enough that the occupants would have a good chance of survival and ability to evacuate post-explosion. Of course the building was not structurally safe enough afterwards.
With this development could this product be used in any military type of applications to protect civilians and soldiers? not specifically speaking about protecting a building but perhaps it could be used in many different applications?
