On the application, via the security check, there is a section for references. There are 4 sets of boxes, so that means 4 references. Obviously, family members can not be used as a reference. But do they mean immediate family? Can I use my cousin who does not have the same last name as me?

I've read through the thread about references on the forum, but it's all mumbo jumbo and unrelated to my dilemma.
