I was wondering if someone could help me with something,I took my aptitude test about a month and a half ago and found out i needed to study my math more which is really no prob at all.I sat down everyday and done it.My sister which just came home from Calgary alberta a couple of months ago wanted me to go out with her to a bar, something i rarely do so i went.at the end of the night she starts a huge fight with the owner and 5 staff carry her outside and throw her around a bit, anyway they grabbed me as well and wouldn't let me go.i was no way involved in my sisters act but when they grabbed me i tried to get free and 2 staff got hit by my flying arms, she was charged with 3 counts of assault and me 2.she actually did assault them.i was only going by my natural instinct to get free from these men and help her.anyway i have to go to court but i swear to you i didn't do anything wrong.i want to know if this is going to ruin my chances of doing the only thing i have ever wanted to do,join the armed forces.i am a good person, strong and have never hurt anyone in my life.can someone please tell me what to do about this.thank you

If you search, you will find out what you would like to know. I am sure a mod will be here soon to point you in the right direction, but I will save them some time.  ;)

To summarize. Welcome to Army.ca, start reading.

Enjoy.

Best thing to do is tell all that to your lawyer.  While you have something pending in court,
you are effectively on hold.

Best of luck with all your future endeavours. Keep studying your math. You may wish to brush up on your English and grammar skills as well.  Find a lawyer and get all that legal stuff taken care of, then try and join again.

lol grammer was never a strong point for me either but i did actually get a good mark on the aptitude test with my vocabulary.I am studying everything that i may have forgotten in high school.I know they told me to study math but as you can see i need more learning lol.thanks for the constructive criticism but i do want somebody to tell me if there is anything i can do to help myself along to still get in.I am really upset about this.thanks

People did tell you what you need to do.  Talk to your lawyer.  As long as you have legal obligations, you will not get in.  End of story.

Thank you for your response and i guess that is all i can do.I feel i should say sorry for the lives that were lost recently over in afghanistan .my problems are petty to those who have suffered.I will continue to do my best to get in even still after this set back.I truly want to help in some way.you are all doing a fine job and keep up the good work.

Whatever the outcome of the altercation whether it be just a fine or some court imposed sanction make sure that you get copies of all the documentation and bring it to the recruiting centre. They can sort through it quickly and let you know where you stand.

That was very helpful and thank you.like i said any info will be greatly appreciated.I want this really bad and i'm prepared to go the distance to get there.I am still studying my math, vocabulary and other things to keep me busy until next month. That is when i go to court.I am scared but i am more scared that this will be the end to my dream.Thank you

Hi
I did my aptitude test and did great.Put in for infantry, armoured soldier and mse op.My interview was really good and I even went the extra mile to fill out the questionaire on why i want my specific trade which was infantry soldier and passed it in at the interview.I then did my medical and passed with flying colors. The medical examiner was impressed because I am a 31 year old mom and in good shape. So the next thing was finger prints because of a drinking and driving charge back in 2000 so I got that to them the very next day by going to my local rcmp myself and getting it done.Anyway I am a great candidate for infantry and they were all really impressed with me and told me to go home, wait 2 weeks and then call to check my status on my file.Well my 2 weeks is up and I called and they told me good news my criminal record is clean but they needed to talk to me about something that happened in 2007 involving assault and disturbing the peace.which did happen but i didnt do what i was being accused from it was my sister. After 1 year the charges were dropped because of this.Anyway I have no idea what this means?the recruiting center said all was good but needed to explain this incident. Also I have a few credit hits from my past and have to explain this as well. Please tell me this will not ruin my chances not after I came all this way and did really well. This charge is no longer a charge and it is not even on my criminal record but was still there when they did my finger prints.I just need someone to tell me if they think this will stop me from getting my offer into the canadian forces? Will it prolong my process?thank you

Maybe.  Possibly.

Or it's simply something that came up in their checks that they just want to hear more details about directly from you.  Did you tell them all about it in your first interviews?

That may be the problem from the sounds of it this was not mentioned and I just went through my interview process and everything less then 2 months ago and they asked if I have ever been arrested, or charged and to disclose even charges that were dropped.

That being said I don't think anyone on here knows for sure you may have to just talk to them and see. Good Luck
