I was just wondering what kind of maneuverability one has while wearing the RAV over top of our gen 3 frag vest with plates.  From pictures i've seen it looks like it is pretty bulky by itself.  Do you find you have problems going prone or crawling with both vests on??

Both vests?

The RAV - releaseable assault vest - has its own panels (SPEARS/BALCS) and takes plates.   No need for the GenIII carrier.

The RAV is cut looser so one has much better manuverability for shooting etc. than the GenIII.

I don't crawl or go prone - I'd dirty my kit  ;D

As Andboy pointed out in a few other threads - many of these kit items are for a more specialised usage.  If one was driving around all day in a vehicle (waiting to get brewed up) It would not be the best system to wear - it excels at allowing the shooter to shoot and covers his critical area from direct fire.

I have a tough time shooting pistol well in a GenIII vest - no problem in the RAV

What are the features of this RAV?  It's the 1st I've heard of it.  Are there any pictures kicking around?

Do a search on paraclete armor.

Will the RAV without plates provide any protect... as in is it a frag vest within itself?  If so what vest provides better ballistic protection without plates?
