Has anyone been having this problem? When browsing the internet on Mozilla it keeps opening new tabs and lots of pop ups (No i'm not looking at porn  :p) it makes it very hard to do anything because i'm too busy closing things. Anybody know of a solution? Maybe a recommendation of a good free pop up blocker? Thanks  :)

Are you referring to Firefox, or the original Mozilla??

If Firefox, go to the Tools Menu, open the Options sub-menu, click on "Web Features", enable (check), the "Block Pop-Up Windows" box.

If original Mozilla - I can't help you, but would imagine that there is a similar feature there somewhere.

Yes it`s Firefox and the block pop up box is checked. I did forget to mention that all the actual windows (Not the tabs, those are Firefox) are internet explorer. I can`t see IE running until a pop up comes up but it`s always on in the task manager under the processes tab and it comes back every time I end the process.

I've been using Firefox for about three years now, and your problem is ringing a faint bell regarding this problem when I first stated using it.

Try this:

Set a RESTORE point on your system (in case you bugger things up and need to RESTORE to your current set up).

Use Regedit, or Registry Crawler, or some other Registry tool to find all references to "IEXPLORE.EXE".  Delete them all.  Reboot.

You will still be able to load Internet Explorer should you wish to, but all reference to it as a background task, etcetera, will be erased.

If this buggers up your system (which it shouldn't), RESTORE to the previous saved point - nothing lost but a few minutes of your time.

Good luck - as I said, I dimly recall similar problems when I first stated using Firefox - those problems no longer exist.

Do I delete "iexplore.exe" too? Or just "IEXPLORE.EXE"?

Well, what spam killer you have?is you're popup blocker turned on,*not the Mozilla one?

Hell when you said mo-zilla I thought you were talking about the fat reservist at range control. ;D

Im sorry couldnt resist ....MAKE THE VOICES STOP!

I deleted those files after I thought I made a restore point but apparently didn`t, I can`t seem to log on to the internet now, any idea how to get those files back?  ???

Now you're in a world of hurt.  That's why you're supposed to set a RESTORE point!!  It's your ace in the hole, should you screw something up.

If you can - restore to ANY restore point that's available.

Failing that - reinstall Internet Explorer from your original Windows discs - use the "repair" option.

Can I run a Compaq recovery CD from another Compaq we bought a few years ago on it?

Nevermind, I got it working. Thanks for the help  :)
