I didn't see this posted elsewhere.  Probably the funniest thing I've seen in a while...and while I'm pretty much Tory blue, I have to agree with Peter on this one.

You might want to turn the volume down if there are kids around.

People in Calgary West keep voting him in, simply because the vast majority want a Tory MP. Sadly, getting that Tory seat means Rob Anders is voted in.

There have been petitions to push him out, get him out of the PC race but all efforts have failed. In fact, Harper stopped him from being booted out on more than one occasion.

Both Harper and Anders studied together at UofC, and were strong members of 'speakers corner' where they would practice public debates next to the food court. It was quite funny to watch Anders get whacked with a flying dinner tray after he voiced his opinion on gay rights one day. I laughed even harder when he got voted in. It is rumored that Anders is useless as a MP, but a shows very strong tactics  and planning in election campaigns. For those reasons, Harper protects him.

Sadly, I fear that so long as he has a Tory MP seat he will keep getting voted in.  Calgary West won't vote any other way.

As a blue-blooded, card carrying Conservative... Even I don't like Anders. Sadly, yes Anders will keep getting the CGY-West vote, only because the other MPs in the riding aren't even half as remotely useful as Anders can potentially be.

Us in the Southeast however have been quite satisfied with Mr. Kenney  :)

I often wondered what it would be like to have a competent MP.

Anders has dominantly kept himself out of the lime light since the Nelson Mandela incident. Given he keeps falling asleep on the job (literally) and then makes irrational statements afterwards, maybe he could be declared mentally unsound?

I mean, he claims he fell asleep in the house of commons because he got hit by a 10 wheel tractor trailer when he was visiting in the states. Perhaps he just is suffering from his phantom accident too much to do his job anymore.

He cant be all bad..

According to wikipedia and CBC:

In 2010, in a card supporting Canadian troops, Anders wrote: "When in doubt, pull the trigger".[10]

;D

I guess if you go around doing and saying random stuff long enough, *eventually* you are bound to do one small thing right.
