I have to do an essay, a bio, on a woman or native who has contributed to Canadian politics. I don't want to do a sufferage piece and I want to do someone no one else will do. Please help me if you can... I am at my wits end here. Thanks.

What about Jean Sauve?  She was the first female Governor General and before that held many posts as a cabinet minister in the Liberal governments.

You can try Madame Justice Bertha Wilson. She was a Supreme Court judge who firmly believed that government was too important to be left to elected people. If you want a few cases, PM me.

Hey, thanks.
I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off for days trying to find someone. My proff suggested Judy LaMarsh. she was one of the first women cabinent ministers, was in the army and iniatied the pension plan and healthcare.
So thanx for the suggestions.
I am so relieved to actually have a topic.  ;D
