I thought this was worthy of mention for how stupid people can be.

Basically this guy bought a video game. It's a typical video game, go around killing people.  Naturally there are some pretty gruesome ways to kill people. I heard one mention that in this game you send crows to peck someone to death. The birds then eat their way inside the body, hatch other crows and those crows burst out of the body and go and kill people.

That's well and fine.  In this game however one unskippable scene requires a character to be baptized in order to enter a city. Well holy shit, time for a refund.

Malmberg objected to an early game scene in which the protagonist must submit to a baptism to progress. He characterized the choice as "extreme blasphemy."

"As baptism of the Holy spirit is at the center of Christianity — of which I am a devout believer — I am basically being forced to make a choice between committing extreme blasphemy by my actions in choosing to accept this 'choice' or forced to quit playing the game before it even really starts," Malmberg told Kotaku.

So going around murdering people is okay for a devout believer of Christianity but a video game baptism offends him. Right.

Some people's kids!  I wonder if there's a way to crucify your opponents?  If so, would he object?  >:D

:dunno: WWJD?

He'd level up, and take Satan to the top of the mountain, rip his still beating heart out, show him, and the throw it to the waiting vultures.

I've played and beat the game.  I don't want to give away spoilers, but the entire baptism scene is used more as a pivot point for character building and choice rather than any real religiosity in the game.

One of the Irrational Game's developers came close to quitting because he had been offended by the game also.

Which then became the point of contact to write the main antagonists character......he didnt quit. He actually stayed on- consulting from a religious persons point of view.

Ive played and finished it- also religious. The idea of rebirth/baptism is used by lots of stories as a plot device. I didnt think it was blasphemy. Its a damn cult...

Sometimes, a valid response to that is "take out a whip and beat people"
