Got an offer for armour today...

I start basic on jan 11 so I just had one question. Would I be trained on all vehicles eventually or would I be working with just one or two types?

No, I'm talking about after basic and SQ.

You'll most likely get qualified on a few "B" vehicles (Iltis or Gelandewagen, LSVW and MLVW).  Then depending on a whole bunch of factors, you'll be trained as a Coyote driver, gunner or surv op.  Eventually you'll get trained in all three positions.  After a bunch of years you'll most likely end up being a vehicle commander.

This is all assuming you're joining as an OR.

OR? I'm going Reg if thats what you are asking. Also, this may seem like a silly question but it's been bugging me for a while, How do you control a tank? With a streering wheel?

When I did my QL3 we all where qualified on MLVW (medium load vehicle wheeled), after completing QL3, we then where loaded on our PCF (Primary Combat Function) course, I chose Leopard Gunner, my reason is that I joined the armoured to be qualified on tanks.  Others from my QL3 chose Cougar driver.  In answer to your question if tanks are controlled by steering wheels, well it depends on the vehicle.  Leopards have a steering yoke, while M113's use tiller bars, and coyote's have a steering wheel.  Hope this helps and congrats on going Armoured.
