General Pershing and the Terrorists

I've searched and cannot find my answer.
Does anyone remember or have a copy of a story about General Pershing(sp.) and some terrorists.  The family and I were just talking about it and I don't like to spout off without the FULL and correct story.  The story goes like this:  IIRC>
"He captured 50 terror suspects, lined them up and shot 49.  Paraded pigs (?) around the bodies, gutted the pigs and spilt the blood over the dead bodies.  Then released the 50th. 
Strangely, terrorist activity in that area decreased for 50 (?) years."
Any help, PM or otherwise, is greatly appreciated.
