Extention or not

I'm going through the recruiting process. I had to have dental work done before my file could be sent to Ottawa. My deadline is Sept 19. The work will be completed on Sept 17. Should I get an extension or just send in the letter from the dentist stating it is complete?

Inform your local recruiting center about your timeline and have a copy of the letter from your dentist  before leaving their office and deliver it to your local recruiting center asap after the work is complete.
