Employment with the Commissionaires in Ontario

Since the province has now updated the requirements for security jobs in ontario a standard license is required to work in this field.

Q1. Do you need to have the license before applying with the commissionaires in Ontario ?

Q2. If not do the commissionaires pay for the course themselves if they are going to hire you?

The cost is around $420.00, not sure if the employer (Commissionaires) pays this to the province or it has to be paid by each individual and the commissionaires keep the money to cover training costs.

Generally the Commissionaires are one of the lead training facilities in security guard certification. If you are hired by the Commissionaires they will train you at their cost and prep you for the provincial test. Then they will offer employment if you pass the test.

That's how it works in Manitoba anyway, I don't imagine things are too different in Ontario
