hey yall

i'm thinking of joining the CF. i'm only 15 years old but i've heard that the papers go slowly so i was woundring if i can submit them when i'm 16 and a half? and then i'll be 17 when they're done

Good question,

I had to search the DND recruiting site for this one.  Straight from the site


be 17 years of age (with parental/guardian consent) or older;
junior level Military College applicants must be 16 years of age;
you may be enrolled in the Reserves providing you are 16 years of age;

Requirements as per www.recruiting.forces.gc.ca

You must meet the following minimal conditions:

    * be a Canadian citizen (if you have a permanent resident status, you may still be considered eligible for employment under certain conditions)
    * be at least 17 years of age (16 for the Reserves and Military College) with parental/guardian consent for minors
    * have successfully completed Grade 10 (Sec III in Quebec); some entry programs have additional academic prerequisites;

Therefore, if you have completed grade 10, then you can submit them as soon as you are 16 with your parents consent.  I say 16, because I am going to assume that you are looking into joining the reserves, as it is a smart decision to stay in school!
