Our friends to the South were doing that for years with their M102s and Chnook 2s.

The best we could ever do ( in my time, anyway ) was two L5s and a jeep, internal, and one L5 with and ammo load slung externally underneath the Chinook. With two planes, you had a Battery, ammunition, and mobility on the ground.
