HI all,

I was just wondeing how the CAP course breaks down, both in subject/matter and time? How long is each module and what do they consist of?

Thanks in advance

Modules are two weeks each, though there is an extra week of administration at the end of Mod 5.

Roughly they worked like this last year:

Mod 1: Fundamentals - weapons (C9, Grenades), theory, communications.
Mod 2: Navigation and fieldcraft, and a quick course in urban operations
Mod 3: Offensive operations (Section Attacks)
Mod 4: Conventional ranges
Mod 5: Recce patrolling, defensive operations, and unusual operations

I'm told that mods four and five have been reversed this year, and that the intent is that 1 and 5 will not necessarily need to be conducted in Gagetown, they could potentially be done at local levels.

the intent is that 1 and 5 will not necessarily need to be conducted in Gagetown, they could potentially be done at local levels.

That would be great for those that are looking at a very long course. It would be nice to see folks get through their training faster...hopefully without sacrificing quality.

Actually, I just finished CAP and it was broken down differently.
Mod 1 C7 review, C9
Mod 2 Navigation, radios, etc.
Mod 3 Section attacks
Mod 4 Patrolling, Defensive Ops
Mod 5 Ranges-running a range

Do the candidates get the weekends off on these Cap courses, Or better off how are they usually scheduled. Because I am getting posted to the Inf School very soon (1st week of Aug 06) and could be part of the CQ staff or whatever for these courses. And was wondering how they worked.

To summarize. Welcome to Army.ca, start reading.

Oh!  Using the  SEARCH  Function  would have given you that answer, but seeing as you will be a bit preoccupied reading the above....yes the Candidates will get some weekends off.....Not all.......They will be CB'ed for a few.....They may even have to stay in the Field for one or two.......but they should get one or two off.  Now take the bubble gum out of your mouth and read some of the reams of information that you can find on this site, which will answer all your questions, except when the short bus makes its rounds of Base Gagetown.

What are you implying here? Exspeally to the last part of your post the bus comment. :warstory:
