Well, technically bioth CFR and SCP are appointed OCdt until they finish BOTC, unless they are a specialist officer MOC (i.e., Doctor, Dentist ...)

Some CFRs do not have to do BOTC

Which ones?  As far as I understood, CFRs without SLC need IAP + BOTP (BOTC Part 1 & 2) and CFRs with SLC only have to do the BOTP (Officer Indoc) part.

CFRs with PLQ only have to do BOTP......

CFRs with SLC do not have to do BOTP......

You're sure about that?

yes......

member of my crew just CFR'd , he was a newly promoted Sgt and only had PLQ.....he did not have to do IAP...went to BOTP and is now in SLT

MWO i used to wok with 2 years ago took his CFR, had his SLC, got his comission, did not have to do BOTP and became a Captain right away

Okay: I had to go through all the relevant QR&Os last year(OPME), maybe I'm confusing CFR with SCP.

I have all 6 OPMEs complete......i've read all the QR&os and DAODs as well, but nothing beats watching it happen in person.

Well technically, I would almost be 2Lt qualified because PLQ and CAP are equivalent, but my bar would be at the discression of my unit. The only thing I would need from CAP I did not recieve on PLQ would be pistol and I would have to run a range, which could be accomplished at the unit level. But a platoon commander is of limited use in the arty, and I would need PHASE. Anyway regardless, Im not worried about that right now.

Any more Advice?

Thanks

Roger, out.

Ya, it works straight out like that no exceptions. If you have your leadership courses complete you are good to go .

What about retro pay? From the date I got promoted?

Retro pay?  Now you have me completely confused.  Look at your Pay Statements and tell us what you were paid as.  You should have been paid as a Cpl, even as an OCdt (as it is less than Cpl if I am correct).  If after all this mixup, you are a Cpl again, there should be no retro pay as you haven't been promoted to a higher Pay Level than what you currently are holding.  Is this not the picture that you have painted so far?

Well I was a Mbdr for 2-3months then had it taken away. My adj told me I would be getting retro pay once they had the paperwork sorted out and that I would continue to get my regular pay until then. He was assuming that I was not becoming an ocdt as per Ottawa. I have never been getting paid ocdt because it would be a step down for me.

Save us all the grief, and go see your RMS clerk.  Then you will have it all explained to you and your problem will be cleared up.  Three pages or more on Army.ca are not going to do you much good as you have such a confusing story, I doubt any of us will ever understand the true facts.

See your RMS Clerk.
