    American modular sleeping bag system

Matt, i'll take what you said into consideration, however, these guys are claiming their bags will work to - temperatures. Most notably is the Recon 5, which apparently stays warm to about -20, and that's a pretty bold thing to say about a bag that's as thin as you say it is. If it didn't work...

    American modular sleeping bag system

I have been on the lookout for the elusive recon 4, but have yet to find it. I try to avoid retail prices, and like to find sweet deals on ebay, craigslist, etc.

    American modular sleeping bag system

I've found the recon 5 and the recon 3, pretty decently cheap. (3-$119. 5-$189) The recon 5 is rated down to -30, which seems pretty damn nice, but its a good amount more expensive than the 3. Is the recon 5 too hot to use year-round? If so, the recon 3 could likely be used with the bivy and a...

    American modular sleeping bag system

I'm an ebay troll. I have come across a lot of cheap, American army sleeping bag systems. For the price, it seems pretty damn good, and with some of them rated to -40, i'm thinking i may have to buy one. My question is, have any of ya'll had any experiences with these? The issue sleeping bags...

Infantry.....what Do You like About it? And what is your weapon of choice?

I have to say, i've come to love the C6. The first time you lift it up off the ground, and that weight you feel just screams power and godliness.(However, after a lot of walking with said weight isn't so fun! :) ) The simple look to it is lovely. Not to mention, the LCF when you're walking...

    Merged 64 Pattern Rucksack thread

MedTech- I DID see them. They looked pretty sexy to me. How much do they run for? Or are they special order bags? I asked one of our guys and i think he said they were just made especially for the Cambrian. Recceguy- If my camera wasn't crushed on course i would take a picture for you, lol. But...

    Merged 64 Pattern Rucksack thread

For the first time since i bought my 64 pattern(thank you riggermade!), i actually used it in a very physical and winter-based exercise. My bag has five pockets on the main bag, which i stuffed with my rations for the weekend(if it was a longer ex i could have easily store more inside the main...

CanadianTire, that would be the ex with us Westies in the wack, right? Heh, all i did was, i took my small pack, undid the compression straps at the side, and looped them through my compression valice' straps on the very top, then sinched it down. It worked damn fine. and why did you have a...

    WTB: British M.O.D. survival knife

I don't know too much on these knives, but from what i've heard they are excellent and long-lasting pieces of kit. They can double as a shovel, hammer, and are just nice overall. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get relatively cheap knives like this? Someone from my unit had a good amount...

    Running cadences, on the ipod!

Might sound wierd.. But a couple weeks ago i just got off BIQ, and figured that it would have been nice to have my mind fixed on something else on those 10km runs. So i found a cd of American army/ranger running cadences. None of that violent/overly graphic stuff from full metal jacket(oh i wish...

NATO Generals Meet in Canada, and Who's Gonna Meet 'EmThere?

Oh god, could they not atleast make a decent and professional, excuse my language, public bitching if they want NATO to take notice of them? Not to mention take them seriously! I'm bloody well sick of these people complaining about war crimes this and that, when they show up in hordes of...

WTB: 64 pattern ruck, 5 pockets prefferably

I do have my BIQ..? Guess i forgot to update me profile  :blotto: Oh and to answer your question. I have heard that the CP gear 64 rucks aren't exactly the best material, so i figured i'd try and find a couple tried and tested one first. But they are an option i'm still looking at.
