Same here, paramedics in our region seem to err more on the side of caution and request police more often than not, they won't even go to welfare checks unless Police are already on scene and there is a patient, otherwise they wont even be dispatched.

Anything is possible. When I wrote mine in 2010, they said I qualified for Pilot.

8 calls in 3 years is not bad, for that population..that's a lot. Imagine if uniformed officers turned up for those tactical calls, you'd probably have 8 dead people due to lack of training. You're obviously in favor of defunding, that much is clear. I just hope if specialist units are defunded...

That sets a difficult precedent. You'll have more than that PS's riot squad quitting their duties, it'll be country wide. The unit responsible for maintaining public order can't maintain public order, or they'll get fired.  ::)

Officers on the road that are scheduled to have either a C8 or a 870 don't look any different than other police officers, other than the fact they have access to that weapon (usually 1 of each per city). In the states I have seen officers pull out helmets and other misc stuff from their trunks...

Just to clarify - it's an armored response vehicle that our tac team uses for armed and barricaded people, basically rolling cover. I should have mentioned it's for the tactical guys only, the beat guys aren't rolling around in ARV's  :rofl:

SIU investigations / misconduct are completely different than a woman accusing an officer of sexually assaulting her and being able to check the camera and immediately see that her whole story is fake - and in full context..not a 5 second snippet of "blue man bad", as an example. Especially if...
