Vetstime I'm neither morally superior, delusional , gullible or anything else as those who know me can attest. I am just pissed off at this infantile behaviour.
In regards to smoking , here in Ontario at present Legions with licensed patios prior to I think it's 2012 were grandfathered and...
I was hoping to stay out of this. I really should be dealing with more important things like getting ready to go to the Dominion Convention in Nfld, where apparently there may now be some interesting conversations both on and off the convention floor. However I once held a leadership role in the...
Actually incorrect off the top of my head I can think of two Canadians who received the Silver Star, Tommy Prince (RCE) and Sam McGee (Tor Scots) both while serving with the FSSF, and having met Sam on more than one occasion he wore it after his Canadian medals including his CD...
Blackadder, thanks the next time the District comes hat in hand for more of my Poppy funds for TCS I'll point out some of your info. From all I've heard including from former tenants the place is poorly run. Mario that was it's old name as I recall.
yup. The Legion set up the Tony Stacey Centre for veterans in Scarborough decades ago. Not sure exactly what happened but they apparently share control with the City and Province and have little or no say on who gets in, less than a third of the beds are vets and vets spouses now. Legion still...
This was brought up at a Service Officer meeting in Aurora in Feb and it was agreed that branches in the GTA and 905 belt would start a letter writing campaign to MS to change the rules at Sunnybrook which will also revert to the Province after the last Second World War or Korean vet passes...
I agree, it don't look right and neither does the mixed dress either. I know the RSM. I'm sure he had counsel and advice for his CO, however apparently it was not entertained.
yeah you're right dude no FFO on parade 8)
I think you're right. mind I've seen all three orders of dress on the same parade and even in the same guard :o
Google Maps says it's 3.3 Km from City Hall to the RRC home station at Fort York Armoury, or 39 minutes at a brisk pace. I wonder if the OP was exaggerating a bit. BTW I thought the FFO looked horrible, especially them all wearing ballistic eye protection. I guess whatever numpty at 32 Bde who...
True forgot about that. However if I was PM I'd give him a bigger ship. The first three names I listed would be the Berlin AORs and as long as I'm dreaming here the last two because of their aviation connection would be our BHS, preferably Mistrals or something similar. hey I can dream.
I guess...
I agree the names should have some form of Naval significance. I have no problems with recycling the old names. Hey if we phrase it as a green eco friendly, pro recycling thing because it's 2016 maybe our political masters will buy it 8). If not then how about naming them after the Naval (...
Having seen some of our Filipino Brothers in Arms, I'm sure they are quite capable of exacting retribution for us while saving the remaining hostages if and when they can locate then and equally importantly are let off their leash by their own political masters
Agree a good series, have read them all several times. I met the author at a book signing (his one on Waterloo) and he promised several fans present that there would be more Sharpe books in the future. There was an annoying little kid there and he asked his name and promised him he would be a...
The movie is a good time waster, you also. forgot Scott Glenn and Ed Harris as the 1st Sgt and CO. I had no idea there was a book. Just found it on amazon for a cent plus postage. Should be worth a subway commute read.
