I do, Daughter is Navy and my Son is Army

This is going back 6 years ago however my daughter did travel outside Canada after swearing in but before leaving for training. She was told by the recruiting centre that there were no issues. It was only to the U.S. so not sure if travelling overseas would be different.

I agree on the knife. My daughter is in the Navy and she asked for a knife for her birthday.

It is BMQ for everyone. Navy  will complete NETP sometime after BMQ.

You are 2 to a room.  Depending on which building you are in will depend on your Rations and Quarters however it is usually about $600 per month.  Your take home pay is about $280 twice a month.

You only get 1 trip home a year reimbursed.  However remember you are also earning an income while there so the bank account should have some funds in it to travel
