Have you tried entering any races? Time trials are really not the same...when there are other people to race against it gives you that extra kick in the butt. Once you've done that, put your time into this online calculator http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm
to work out...
Sorry if I'm sidetracking the discussion here somewhat.
I'm hoping that as an Army Med Tech I wouldn't end up on a ship, or a boat, but as a purple trade I realize that's a possibility. How much weight is given to the stated preference of the recruit? Does it depend entirely on the needs of the...
I won't be enrolling before spring 2010, hopefully as Med Tech. My question concerns how the BC strike is affecting incoming recruits in this trade. Are recruits piling up on PRETC, or at the recruiting centres? Is there going to be a backlog of applications in the spring that would delay my own...
Smoking may be cool, but it's nothing to be proud of ;D
If your aim is to be a faster runner, I would say run more. That is unless you also plan/need to lose weight, in which case you could use the elliptical machine until you're ready to start running.
Okay, thanks to the two(2) people who responded to my question. One more and I'll start drawing graphs and finding correlations >:D Everyone else: sorry for mentioning the chinups!
Redeem yourself Dean22, before they make you armwrestle an admin, what did you score on the dynamometer and what...
As a runner I'm not planning on joining the navy, but if I become a MedTech I'm aware of the possibility at least of being deployed on a marine vessel. My question is, do ships and so on usually have treadmills?

There seems to be a divergence of opinion on how easy the grip strength is to pass. Some say it's easy to pass, others that it's easy to train for, and others still that it's hard to get if you don't already have it. I'm 5'11" and 145 lbs on a good day, not exactly Arnold Schwarzenegger. My...
I've read that the recruit's heart rate is measured during the shuttle test. Problem is, even though my aerobic fitness is high (5k in 18:03) and I'm an experienced runner, my heart rate goes a fair bit higher than most people's. The resting rate is below 50, but during a race it could go above...
